Reaching.'s side is an edit of a track recorded sometime last year. Analog and digital decay.

The flip side is Logan's Blackend Powerviolence band doing what they do.

I will be receiving my copies of the split sometime next week.

Me and BBBlood have become good friends and we tagged up for this release. I provided the artwork and he provided cases and discs. BBBlood is an awesome analog harsh noise act that will literally tear your skin raw. My side is the last material recorded in my dorm around May of 2009.

Orgasm Denial/Reaching. CDr (lim 10)

This was going to be pressed in a larger amount, but 20 of the discs got ruined. The remaining ten are housed in brown paper with cardboard and each comes with a different picture. Orgasm Denial's stuff was supposed to appear on a split that never happened so I asked if he wanted to do a split with me instead. Some of the first Orgasm Denial from early 2008.

Didn't bring any of my equipment back with me after break. Finished up the sister album to Prehistoric Burial today (Forever Indebted To The Skull). Where Prehistoric Burial is only analog, Forever Indebted To The Skull is both analog and digital: analog walls with laptop manipulation on top. Both dedicated to the Man Is The Bastard Noise family.

I need to get my computer fixed sometime in the future, pretty sure the input is slowly dying. In other tech news, got a contact mic today. Expect to hear it used in future material.

Reaching. will be doing a split lathe with J. Briglia, L. Butler, D. Schoonmaker, J. Williams (A.K.A. the band with no name). The track is the second extract/cut of "Dilemma", a track featuring harsh walls of analog feedback with digital manipulations ontop. Expect that as soon as I get the money. So, it's been a long time since this came out, but Ophibre is still pressing them.
Despite the fact that I'm not making any money on them, help out a friend.

Ophibre's side is more noisy then what one may be used to expecting out of his material.

Blood Is Art Re-Issue [Via Hoarse Records]

Sven of Hoarse Records is now assembling the Blood Is Art Re-Issue from late in 2008. It consists of two harsh analog tracks (Art Thieves, Keyboard Kaleidoscope) clocking in at an hour and ten minutes. The first track, Art Thieves, is 52 minutes in itself. This release first appeared in an extremely limited 4 copy run, housed in cardboard with printed inserts. More details to come.

Out of Hiatus

Reaching. is officially out of hiatus. I feel comfortable with my workload that I can continue to release material at a steady pace.

The Reaching./In Cat Hat Pants split .rar will be posted onto the Reaching. website within the next day or two.

"The Laptop Sessions" CDr that was originally to appear via SRA records fell through. The owner thought that my project would fit better on another label. I have been talking to Junky of Torturing Nurse about releasing the disc, and may possibly happen in the future. If this falls through, I will be pressing the disc myself in an edition of 10-15 copies. The Laptop Sessions consists of 4 tracks in about 50-60 minutes of digital harsh noise recorded in dorm about a month or two ago.

I have also been debating with releasing an old cassette on disc that I recorded sometime early in Reaching.'s existence. The cassette was a one-of-a-kind trade to Nurture Abuse who ironically never traded anything in return for it. It consists of 4-6 tracks in 45 minutes of barbaric pre-laptop digital noise recorded live to tape. Lots of loops, feedback, and even distorted vocals. This Reaching. material is so far from the current incarnation that I question whether or not I feel I want to release it.

I have also recorded new material to tape which I plan on mastering and possibly releasing in the near future. 60 minutes of audio in approximately 2-3 tracks. Pure analog harsh noise, no laptop used at all. This piece remains yet untitled.

The Reaching. parts of the Dotabata/Reaching. collaboration have been recorded and sent to Carey for his parts. A title for the project, album, and pieces have yet to be determined. The release consists of Reaching.'s dark ambient sound collages with Carey's guitarwork layered ontop to create a blackened ambient sound.

Here are a few noteworthy things in the Reaching. world:

Me and Carey (Dotabata) have started collaborating on an as-of-yet untitled project. I will be doing laptop manipulations and ambiance, and Carey will be playing guitar. So far I've recorded five or six tracks and sent them off to Carey to see what he could do with them.

Reaching. will be soon releasing a split with Blackburn6600 in the near future on the Reaching. freeweb website. Reaching.'s side is short bursts and harsh walls, around 8 tracks in a half hour.

Reaching. will start to play shows around the Richmond area within the next few weeks. The setup will be a mixture of pure analog mixed with laptop manipulation.

Late at night I lay awake in my bed crafting the darkest, most chilling music that I can. Slow, black, empty dark ambient pieces. Along with these creations, I craft videos. Black and white, high contrast scenes that go along with the pieces. So far I have recorded 2, "Echoes of the Hecatomb" and "Rotting Fountains". I am hoping on pressing an extremely limited number of 3" DVDrs containing, either a new piece, "Rotting Fountains", or both "Echoes of the Hecatomb" and "Rotting Fountains" which will be sprayed flat black, along with the cases, and sold for $10 to cover the cost of the discs and shipping.

Fall Into Darkness

I finished recording "Fall Into Darkness" which I have just uploaded to Last.fm as a five track EP, which can be downloaded in it's entirety for free at http://www.last.fm/music/reaching.

"Fall Into Darkness" is a more ambient collection of pieces that focuses more on death-industrial and dark ambient rather than power electronics and noise.

All tracks were recorded between Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Artwork was completed about an hour ago, and is an old piece of mine.

As you may or may not know, my full length "False Desire" can be downloaded from Glitch City for free.

Lately I haven't been to busy with classes so have gotten to record on a regular basis. Right now I have a few tracks for a couple of different works.

The first release I am working on is yet untitled, but follows in the vein of death-industrial/dark-ambient works akin to Steel Hook Prosthesis or even some Navicon Torture Technologies. I have four tracks for this put together as of right now. I'm not sure if I want to make more or just release it as an EP.

The second release I am putting together only has two tracks. It is called "Material For Live Destruction" and features manipulations I have put together and processed to make sound like a live show, a la "Concert For My Fucking Self".
